I've gotten into reading fan fiction. For those who already know I'm a subtle evangelion fan. A fellow colleague of mine has been writing an evangelion fan fiction for a while now, he recently asked me to read and review his works. I must say that I am nothing short of impressed. Regardless of whether or not your into "anime" his writings are very good.
I recommend reading his stories, In the Mind of a child and Undiscovered Feelings .
Elsewhere, I don't care who you are, if your reading this right now, you know that having no internet is not cool.
Anyways, what's worse is being stuck in a place where 'A' your browsing is limited to things such as a school, work, or government filter.
Today I'm writing about How I got internet to work on my laptop via my cell phone. As I previously mentioned last time I was at WTI. Here's my GPS coordinates. 32 36 8 N 114 12 22 W
Here's the things I had. A V3 Razr Cell phone. Service Provided by Cingular

A while back my cell phone wall charger broke,
most likely
Anyways I went to best buy looking for a replacement.

that requires 1 AA cell, I also purchased a car charger
Since I already had AA/AAA cell charger it would be easy for me to have a constant source to charge my phone.
Too bad my plan back fired, the cheaply made turbo charger broke. I believe the internal contacts shifted or something. And suddenly I could not charge my cell phone, Well while at WTI, another fellow colleague told me I could charge my cell phone using my usb data cable. Not only that however I can also use it to synchronize my contacts and type out text messages on my computer. Then I discovered that motorola phone tools also has an option to connect to internet, using my cell phones GPRS to connect to the internet. Now my cell phone plan Media Works 1500 bundle. Which included 1500 text messages and 5MB of internet, on my WAP browser, for a price of an additional 15 dollars a month. Well I realized I hardly ever text message second if I'm about to use my cell phone for internet I'll most certainly need more 5 MBs of data. So I switch to the Media Max + M2M for 25 dollars, which gives me unlimited data, unlimited cingular to cingular text messages and 200 normal text messages.
Anyways for those wondering how fast the internet was. I believe it wasn't to bad. A bandwidth of 230 Kbps which is about 4 times the bandwidth of standard dial up, not too shabby. However it was the latency(the amount of time) was terrible. I pinged google.com at 1500 millisecond. Something Dial up could do around 150-200 Milliseconds, or on a high speed around 20-60 milliseconds.
